the banks of river Vaigai as
a lotus flower with the Meenakshi
temple in the centre. After
lunch, visit Meenakshi Temple
& King Thirumalainayakar

Rise at
early hours & leave for
Rameshwaram (179 kms - 3 ½
hrs). Visit Ramanathaswamy
Temple, built in the 17th
century, famous for its 1200
gigantic granite columns.
The 54 metre tall gopuram
(gate-tower), The water in
each of the 22 sacred wells
in the temple tastes different,
Gandamadana Parvatham, The
imprint of Lord Rama's feet
placed on a Chakra (wheel)
is found in this shrine which
is at the highest point on
the island at 2 km from Rameswaram.
Dhanushkodi, believed to be
used by Hanuman to reach across
Srilanka. In the evening return
to Madurai. Overnight stay
in Madurai. In the return
to Madurai stay overnight.

MADURAI - TANJOREt |

morning depart to Tanjore ancient
capital of the Cholas (163 kms
- 3 ½ hrs). Check in
to hotel. Visit the Brahadeeswarar

by the Chola King Raja Rajan
- the architect's marvel), the
Art Gallery and the Saraswathi
Mahal Palace which houses the
