| Day 01: Airport / Negombo

| Arrival at Bandaranaike International
Airport . Welcome by a Nisarg Holidays representative,
transfer to beach hotel in Negombo . In the afternoon
information, briefing of the tour with a welcome cocktail.
City tour of Negombo, visit the remaining of the Dutch
period, a Buddhist temple & a Catholic church. Visit
to a fishing village, the fish market & the bazaar.
Make an optional boat trip in Dutch canal, lagoon &
sea. Dinner and overnight stay in Negombo. |

Day
02: Negombo - Sigiriya (153 kms)- Polonnaruwa (67 kms)

| After breakfast leave for the
ancient kingdoms (Cultural Triangle) of Sri Lanka . Visit
& climb the 5 th century Sigiriya rock fortress which
is a World Heritage Site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495
AD) the 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising
200 meters from the scrub jungle. Visit the world renowned
frescos of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are
in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral
stairway. These frescos are painted in earth pigments
on plaster. There after drive to Polonnaruwa a World Heritage
Site & the second capital city of Sri Lanka built
in the 11 th & 12 th centuries. Visit the ruins of
the Royal Palace, Gal Viharaya where the splendid statues
of the Buddha in 'Upright', 'Sedentary' and 'Recumbent'
postures are carved out of rock, Audience Hall, Lotus
Bath, statue of King Parakumbahu & Parakrama Samudraya
- a lake built by King Parakumbahu. There are also monuments
of famous places of worship such as the Shiva Temple ,
Lankathilake, Watadage, Galpotha, Kiri Vehera & the
remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic. Dinner

| Day 03: Dambulla /
Kandy |
| After breakfast leave for Kandy
. En-route visit the rock cave temple at Dambulla (68
kms) built by King Walagambahu, in the 1 st Century B.C.
It is a World Heritage Ste & the most impressive of
Sri Lanka 's cave temples. The complex of five caves with
over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls & ceilings is
the largest area of paintings found in the world. It contains
150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal
figure of the Buddha carved out of rock & spanning
14 meters. |
| En-route make a stop in Matale
(47 kms) to see a Hindu Shrine, a batik factory &
a spice garden. In the afternoon arrive in Kandy (26 kms)
& check-in at your hotel. |
| Kandy as a World Heritage Site,
was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings. The name
' Kandy ' conjures visions of splendor & magnificence.
Many of the legends, traditions & folklore are still
lovingly kept alive. The Kandy lake was built by the last
Sinhala King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Make a city

| Day 04:
Pinnawela / Kandy |
After breakfast visit the elephant
orphanage at Pinnawela, established in 1975, commenced
with seven orphans. Today some of these orphans enjoy
the fortune of seeing their grandchildren born in the
same location. The original objective of establishing
the orphanage inclined more towards tourism, but it soon
became a conservation and educational centre. Now Pinnawala
is home for more than 65 elephants including babies. Watch
the elephants while they are being fed and during their
working and bathing time.
Afterwards return to Kandy . Enroute visit the Royal Botanical
Gardens at Peradeniya. Stroll in Kandy town & explore
the Kandy bazaar. In the evening visit the Temple of the
Tooth Relic & also enjoy a show of cultural dance

05: Tea Factory / Nuwaraeliya

Discover the hill country
of Sri Lanka, where the misty mountains are covered
with green carpets of tea bushes & where the world's
best tea grows. Nuwaraeliya (77 kms), with it's invigorating
mountain climate & scenery, is Sri Lanka 's most
popular hill resort. It is also the heart of Sri Lanka
's tea country producing a significant share of the
world's best tea. Visit a tea factory to learn about
the tea producing process & enjoy a freshly brewed
cup of Ceylon tea. Stop at Nuwaraeliya, known as "Little
England ", make a city tour. Afternoon free to
make a walk in Nuwareliya & discover more of the
city & the life style. Dinner & over night stay
at Nuwaraeliya.

| Day 06: Yala Jeep Safari
/ Tissamaharama |
Morning leave
for Tissamaharamaya (146 kms). Stop at Ella to see the
"Ravana Ella" waterfalls. Enjoy the rich nature.
In the afternoon set off on a jeep safari in Yala national
park to see the wildlife Yala is the largest national
park in Sri Lanka & is home to wild elephants, wild
boars, wild buffaloes, leopards, bears, deers &
crocodiles. Large flock of migratory & indigenous
birds are also found here. Dinner & over night stay
in Tissamaharamaya. |

07: Matara (104 kms) / Galle (45 kms) / Hikkaduwa (17
kms)

| Morning visit the Kataragama
Hindu Temple , in the sacred city of Kataragam . Observe
a religious ceremony, where people of all religions visit.
Early afternoon leave for the south / south-west coast.
Travel through Tangalle and Matara . En route see the
Dutch period remaining. In Galle visit the Dutch fort.
At Hikkaduwa make a tour in glass bottom boat to see the
impressive corals& underwater life. Dinner and overnight
stay in your beach hotel in the south / south-west coast.

| Day 08: Colombo (99
kms), City tour - Departure for Male |
| After an early Breakfast at
the hotel & leave for Colombo, After city tour check
into the hotel. City tour includes 100 years old clock
tower, British built colonial buildings, Hindu and Buddhist
temples and Bandaranaike Memorial International. Free
time for shopping at Odel Shopping Mall. Later board the
flight for Maldives. Arrive at Maldives in the evening. |

| City tour includes President's
Palace, Big Mosque, Sultan Park, Local Fish Market. Free
time for shopping. Evening free to enjoy the blue water
of Maldives. |
